Since its inception in May 2017, Beirut Pride has been highly coveted by the media outlets. While a few journalists relay on generic articles for their stories, most reach out for Beirut Pride for a personalized interview. Despite our attention to detail, some editorials featured a few inaccuracies that we look forward to avoiding in the upcoming press coverage. We noticed, for example, journalists wanting to include a maximum of information in a limited number of words, which led to editorial misunderstandings and to an incorrect interpretation that gives false information to the reader and that can harm the reputation of Beirut Pride and its efforts in our advancement toward decriminalization of sexual intercourse between consenting adults in non-public spaces.
In an attempt to provide each journalist with a quality experience, to contribute to precise and true information, and to acknowledge the time and contribution of those involved in the article, we have tapped into editorial misunderstandings and inaccuracies and put together this request, asking editors to complete to it for a smooth collaboration and an optimal coverage.
